                                                         Cecile Lundgreen

Cecilie Lundgreen will hope to carry her form from last week into the Ljungbyhed Park PGA Ladies Open taking place at Ljungbyhed Golfclub from May 16-18 as she looks to capture a second consecutive tournament title in Sweden.

The 39 year old Norwegian claimed her first victory in 15 years as a professional at the Kristianstad Åhus Ladies Open on Saturday and is looking to add a second title to her golfing CV at this week’s event, which is once again sanctioned by both the LET Access Series and Nordea Tour.

A total of 123 players are teeing up in Ljungbyhed, southern Sweden, including the current LETAS order of merit leader Marion Ricordeau of France, who won the season-opening tournament at the Terre Blanche Ladies Open in March.

Other well-known names in the tournament field include former multiple Ladies European Tour champion Cecilia Ekelundh from Sweden, who won the 2004 and 2005 Portugal Ladies Open titles as well as the 2006 Ladies English Open before taking a break from tournament golf.

There are a number of rookie players from the Ladies European Tour looking to maximise their competitive opportunities such as Anna Scott from England, Scotland’s Gemma Webster, Norwegian Lene Krog, Iceland’s Tinna Johannsdottir and South African duo Monique Smit and Ilska Verwey, among others.

First round tee times are from 9am to 2.30pm local time. Order of merit leader Ricordeau will be one to watch and starts her round from the 10th tee at 9.30am, while last week’s champion, Lundgreen tees off the first at 1.50pm.

About the LET Access Series:

The LET Access Series (LETAS) launched in 2010 as the official feeder tour to the Ladies European Tour. The objective of LETAS is to provide greater playing opportunities for female professional golfers.  All female professional golfers and amateurs with a handicap of 3 or better are eligible for membership of LETAS, providing they are over 18 years of age. The top three players on the 2012 LETAS Ranking will earn membership of the Ladies European Tour for the 2013 season, while players in fourth to 15th positions will have the opportunity to progress to the final stage of LET Qualifying School, thereby skipping the first qualifying event. If the top three players are already exempt for the Ladies European Tour then the cards will be available to the next best players inside the top 10 on the 2012 LETAS Ranking. If a player in fourth to 15th position is already exempt to Final Qualifying School for the 2013 Ladies European Tour season, then the next non-exempt player down to 30th position on the 2012 LETAS Ranking will be offered a place at LET Final Qualifying School. See more information on the official website, www.letaccess.com.
