Isabella Ramsay

Sweden’s Isabella Ramsay claimed her second LETAS title of the season, winning the Royal Belgian Golf Federation LETAS Trophy at Rinkven Golf Club. Ramsay shot a closing round of 71, for a three round total of 209 for the win.

Ramsay struggled on the opening holes of the final round, dropping shots on the 1st, 3rd, and 5th holes, before steadying herself to make four birdies in row on the 11th, 12th, 13th and 14th and a further birdie on the 17th to seal her victory.

Spanish amateur Marta Sanz Barrio took the runner up spot at four under par. Sanz Barrio, The younger sister of LET rookie Patricia Sanz Barrio, had the round of the tournament with eight birdies on her card and just two bogeys for an impressive 66, to claim second place. This was the Spaniard’s second LETAS tournament after a 4th place finish at the Open Generali de Dinard last month.

England’s Kiran Matharu closed with a round of level par to finish in third position at three under, 213. A further shot back in fourth, was overnight leader Emma Westin of Sweden who struggled on her closing round.

Ramsay now extends her lead at the top of the 2014 LETAS order of merit, and will feature in next week’s Ladies European Tour Sberbank Golf Masters, in Pilsen, before continuing her season on the LET Access Series.

The LET Access Series will move to Sweden for the Ingarö Ladies Open hosted by Elin Emanuelsson, from 7th-9th August, at Ingarö Golf Club.
