Switzerland's Caroline Rominger shot a second round one under par, 72, to take the lead in the Mineks & Regnum Ladies Classic at National Golf Club in Belek, Turkey.

The Swiss leads by one shot from Sweden’s Emma Westin, who will be hoping to secure her third win of the LETAS season. Although not completely happy with her ball striking during today’s round, the Swede will go into the final round full of confidence after securing an eleven shot victory at the HLR Golf Academy Open in Finland last week.

The 23 year-old is enjoying the layout at National Golf Club, she commented: “It’s a great golf course, challenging and tomorrow I will just try to handle the heat, be happy and stay in the moment.”

Rominger has also be in great form over the last few events, with a 2nd place finish in the Ingaro Ladies Open hosted by Elin Emanuelsson and two third place positions in the Pilsen Golf Challenge and Ladies Norwegian Challenge.

The Swiss credits some of her good form on a recent Kramski putter fitting and feels she no longer needs to make any compensations in her stroke, which has been good for her confidence. The 31-year-old from Samedan relied on some solid iron play to score under par, with birdies on the par five 4th hole, with a 4m chip to two feet, a 7-iron to 10 feet on the par three 11th and a wedge to two feet on the final hole. She commented: “It was a bit boring, I had a lot of chances but didn’t make many but I had no crazy shots.”

Finland’s Sanna Nuutinen, shot the low round of the tournament with a 69, 4 under par, to be tied for third place, with Sweden’s Lina Boqvist (74) and Vani Kapoor (72) from India.

Denmark’s Daisy Nielsen continues her good form this season, lying in 6th place at 2 over par, after a second round even par 73.

Three English players, Emma Tayler, Tracey Boyes and Charlotte Wild are tied for 7th place at three over.

42 professionals and 4 amateurs made the cut, which fell at 14 over par. Play will commence on Sunday morning at 7.30am.
