Norway's Cecilie Lundgreen shot an opening 66, four under par, to lead the Drobak Ladies Open by three shots at Drobak Golf Club, near Oslo in Norway.
The 32-year-old from Sarpsborg birdied four of her first six holes to get off to the best of starts. Bogeys followed on the 13th and 15th before the Norwegian finished strongly with birdies on the 16th and 17th holes.
Lundgreen leads five players who are all tied for second place on one under par. Germany’s Isi Gabsa, who won last week’s PGA Halmstad Ladies Open by Haverdal in Sweden, Kym Larratt from England, Austria’s Christine Wolf and fellow Spanish amateurs Natalia Escuriola and Luna Sobron, all shot 69.
Current Order of Merit leader, Michele Thomson, is a further shot back at even par in 7th position after a very tidy even par round.
Tomorrow's second round commences at 8.00am.
