Austria's Nina Muehl and Charlotte Thompson of England moved five shots ahead of the field after the 2nd round of the Ladies Norwegian Open at Skjeberg Golf Club, near Oslo.

Thompson recorded a second consecutive 67 for a 10 under par total and Muehl produced a 65 to sit alongside the Englishwoman at the top of the leaderboard.

Thompson has been in great from over the last few weeks, narrowly missing out on her first win in a play-off with Spain's Maria Parra last week. Muehl has had a mixed season, missing the cut in five out of eight events in which she has competed. The Austrian is pleased to finally see a turnaround in her form.

“I played really solid at the beginning. I think I missed three greens all in all. I made really good putts. At the beginning I was just close to the pin, I made two putts and was two under and on the second nine I was really just holing a lot and wasn’t really far away from the flag. So I wasn’t really making a lot of mistakes today.”

“You have to be straight from the tee and that suits my game. And then it’s not really long but with the short clubs in you can give yourself really good chances for birdie.”

Sweden's Linda Wessberg (70), Alexandra Bonetti (71) of France and Spanish amateur Silvia Banon (65) are all tied for 3rd place at 5 under par, 139.
