The 30-year-old from Frederiksberg, currently ranked third on the LET Access Series Order of Merit is fighting for a place at the Ladies European Tour’s Final Qualifying School, which takes place at the same venue from December 15-18. The winner of the Murcia Ladies Open will automatically advance to the final stage of the LET Qualifying School.

Tvede’s closest challengers are Wales’ Sahra Hassan who shot a second round 70 and France’s Barbara Genuini, picking up three birdies in her closing nine holes to finish with a round of 71. Both Hassan and Genuini are lying at 2 under par and are hoping for a strong finish to also advance to the final stage of qualifying school.

A further shot back at one under par is 14 year old Charley Hull, one of 18 amateurs in the field, who is tipped as one of the potential stars of the future. The young English player is already playing off a handicap of plus three.

Charley showed a talent for golf at the age of three and gained international recognition when she won the 2005 LGU Health Perception British Women’s Amateur Championship at the age of nine.

Curtis Cup players Kelly Tidy from Royal Birkdale and Danielle McVeigh of Royal County Down in Northern Ireland were amongst eight amateurs and 26 professionals making the cut, which fell at seven over par.

Laura Cabanillas and Maria Beautell were the best placed Spanish players at 2 over par in a tie for 7th place.

Final round play begins at 10am on Saturday, with the last group out at 11.50.
