A field of 96 players from 18 different countries will tee up at Stoke by Nayland this week in the penultimate tournament of the LETAS season.

Budding stars of the future will be in action when the Suffolk venue hosts the WPGA International Challenge for a fourth successive year, from the 6-8 October.

The Gainsborough course will host a strong field of Ladies European Tour hopefuls chasing a €30,000 prize fund and LET exemptions.

The 54-hole event is the only LETAS event to be staged in the UK in 2016 and will include 15 WPGA members, comprising winners from the WPGA’s One Day Series and the remaining places secured via a qualifying Order of Merit over the same period.

Fifteen spots will also be allocated to the leading English amateurs decided by England Golf, recognising the LET Access Series’ commitment to providing an important link between elite amateur and professional golf.

The top five on the LETAS order of merit will earn cards on the Ladies European Tour for 2017, as achieved by last year’s WPGA International Challenge winner, Natalia Escuriola. This year’s ranking is tightly contested with the top seven players battling it out for the all-important exemptions.

Austria’s Sarah Schober currently leads the Order of Merit by just over 700 points from Jenny Haglund of Sweden, with the winner of this week’s event earning 5,000 points. Both players are in great form, Haglund a winner in the Azores Ladies Open last week and Schober recording seven top ten finishes in 13 starts this year.

All of the players in the top ten of the rankings will compete this week in what will be an exciting finish to the season.
